BIG RUSSIA SANCTIONS SMALL PITCAIRN ISLAND

Pitcairn Island, South Pacific Ocean, November 2, 2022 ---- Mighty Russia has sanctioned one of the earth’s smallest, least defended, most remote countries – Pitcairn Island.

In sanctioning Pitcairn Island, Russia has put the island on its “unfriendly countries list,” according to Tass, the Russian news agency.

“Being 10,168 miles away from Moscow, and not having had any Russian delegation visiting our island for who knows how long, if ever, one wonders how they know we are unfriendly,” said a Pitcairn islander.

“I can’t help wondering what we’ve done to tick off the megalomaniacal pathetic boy-man this time,” said another.

The size of the two countries – Russia’s 6,612,974 square miles versus Pitcairn’s 2 square miles – makes the Russian political and economic action laughable.  Pitcairn is one of 11 small British “territories” Russia has just added to its sanctions list.

Pitcairn Island is a one-mile-wide-by-two-miles-long volcanic outcropping from the ocean floor.  It is located about midway in the South Pacific Ocean between Panama and New Zealand.  It became famous through worldwide publicity after it was inhabited by mutinous British sailors of the ship HMS Bounty in the late 1700s.  The story of the mutiny has become known as the “Mutiny on the Bounty.”
